Prime location

BlueChem is literally building the future of sustainable chemistry. And where else could this happen than in Antwerp, home to the largest integrated chemical cluster in Europe? A unique location with an open view of the world, but also strongly linked to the close-knit business and academic network found throughout Flanders.

BlueChem is located at Blue Gate Antwerp, the first eco-effective and water-bound business park in Belgium. Blue Gate Antwerp is located on the site of the former Petroleum Zuid industrial estate, once the heart of the Antwerp petroleum industry. Today, the sites have been remediated and are ready for a new and sustainable chapter.

BlueChem is one of the first real estate projects in this enterprise zone with spatial expansion opportunities for expanding companies. In addition to BlueChem, the University of Antwerp is building Blue_App, a building that will serve as an open innovation hub for research projects in the field of sustainable chemistry. This will further reinforce the synergy between industry and academic research.
